A TikTok user named Felix Cipher has become the center of an online controversy after claiming to be the reincarnation of German dictator Adolf Hitler.
TikTokker posted content that many users found disturbing, including a video of them wearing a Nazi symbol and another clip that they thought was “Past Life Hilter.”
It appears that Felix Cipher has since been removed from all major social networks including TikTok, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Or they themselves removed the content due to disagreements.
Felix Cipher TikTok controversy
On February 6, Cipher posted a TikTok post about a large nasal septum ring they made. The nose ring bears a striking resemblance to the tendrils of a German dictator’s toothbrush.
In addition to jewelry, Cypher wore what appeared to be a gray military jacket with a clearly visible pin that read “German Imperial Eagle” or “Reichsadler”. The pin version of the Reichsadler was used when the country was under Nazi control between 1933 and 1945, according to WeGotThisCovered.
Now, the deleted video can still be seen in duets created by other users who reacted with outrage at the symbols. True Adventures, a TikTok account run by two Holocaust survivors, did a duet with the video, captioning it “Not cool, Felix.”
In response to the viral nose ring video, Felix posted another TikTok in which they said they believed they were Adolf Hitler in a past life. “It’s time to turn to the nose ring drama. I need to tell you something about me,” Cypher began.
“You can call me crazy, you can call me whatever you want, but I am very in tune with my past and my past lives. It so happened that my last life was very infamous.”
Felix claimed that they first remembered this past life in a nightmare at the age of five. Further evidence, Felix claimed, was a scar on their head, presumably indicating where a previous incarnation of Cypher “shot himself”.
“This and much more in my life has connected me to my past,” Cypher concluded.
TikTok’s Felix Cipher erases online presence
After the so-called “nose ring drama”, Felix’s online footprint appears to have been completely erased. However, that didn’t stop the Twitter storm.
Everything from discussions of the original videos to theories about Felix Cypher’s mental state was fair game.
However, the general consensus seems to be that netizens are shocked, which takes a long time these days.
Cipher was fired after it went viral
Some people online are outraged by Felix’s statements and have taken it upon themselves to learn more about TikTokker.
One user allegedly discovered where Felix worked and filed a complaint with his employer. According to ScreenshotFelix apparently no longer works at the establishment as they are “not up to par [its] convictions.”
Despite the backlash, some netizens are willing to give Felix the benefit of the doubt. Writing for The Times Of Israel, the couple behind The True Adventures TikTok account suggested that Cipher might “cosplay” or “dress outlandishly to shock us or be ‘edgy’.”
However, they wondered about the mental health of TikTokker and what might have motivated them to make these videos.
