Usher to Headline Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala – Billboard
Usher has a date with the Dodgers.
The Grammy-winning singer has been confirmed to headline the Blue Diamond Gala, a massive fundraiser for the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. The gala, scheduled for June 22 at Dodger Stadium, will be called “Party for LA” and will be presented by the Los Angeles Dodgers owner group.
The event will feature celebrities, Dodger players, alumni, coaches, a blue carpet and pre-show party, followed by two hours of entertainment including a DJ set by superstar DJ D-Nice, a food truck after-show party and of course , a mini-concert from Usher.
Said Los Angeles Dodgers owner and LADF Chairman Mark Walter, “We’re thrilled to have Usher performing at The Party for LA this year to raise vital funds to enable us to invest in the Angelenos and provide the opportunities they deserve.” .
Proceeds benefit the LADF and the organization’s programs and initiatives to improve education, healthcare, homelessness, and social justice. LADF was reimagined in 2013 and has since raised over $81 million and is set to raise $100 million in 2023. Over the past decade, LADF has invested over $50 million in its programs and grants to local organizations and has impacted over 9 million young people. .
“The Gala honors our partners, community members and everyday champions as the foundation of our success,” said LADF CEO Nicol Whiteman. “Our theme ‘Rethinking 10 Years’ reflects our vision of building capacity, educating future leaders and empowering the outstanding organizations and individuals we support. Previous Blue Diamond Gala performers have included Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Earth Wind & Fire, Fleetwood Mac, John Legend and Jennifer Lopez. Usher has been making a lot of noise lately with his Las Vegas residency at Park MGM.
