Tourists in TikTok video slammed for taking part in ‘sunbed wars’
A number of tourists have been criticized online after they were caught on video chasing sun loungers at a pool hotel before it even opened.
A TikTok user named Thomas Clifford, who was vacationing in Tenerife in Spain with his family, posted a video with the caption: “Sunbed Wars. My wife told me that every morning everyone runs for sun loungers, I didn’t believe her!”
Clifford shows his watch on video showing the time of 7:47 am. A group of people with beach towels are waiting for the hotel pool to open.

As soon as the clock supposedly strikes 8 a.m., tourists frantically run to grab a sun lounger for the day, dropping their towels.
In the comments to the video, Clifford said it was “chaos” when people “throw their towels down the stairs.”
He wrote that some guests even waited to take a sun lounger for 40 minutes.
Clifford said that he mostly found this kind of behavior amusing, but other than that the hotel was amazing.
“Otherwise it was a great holiday,” he said.
However, other TikTok users did not see the humor in the tourists’ behavior.
“MY GOD! Horror,” wrote one user.
“It’s not a holiday,” said another.
A third commented, “What kind of hotel is this? Should be avoided. I can’t (deal) with this nonsense.”
