Locals in the village where Nicola Bulli went missing have urged TikTok “detectives” to leave the area.
The missing mom disappeared on January 27 while walking her dog Willow.
Two TikTok users have faced online backlash after they filmed digging the ground near the Wyre River where Nicola was last seen.
One was seen digging in the ground while another discussed the wider mystery of the disappearance.
The video was uploaded this morning by a social media user who also invited viewers to walk around the area.
It came after officers called social media users “vigilantes”.
Some were believed to have tried to break into a row of abandoned houses along the Wyre River, claiming that the police did not search thoroughly enough.
Tonight, local council chief Michael Vincent told the Sunday Mirror: “It’s like social media idiocy and reality have become blurred.”
“We had these weirdos, these ghouls, trying to taste people’s doorknobs, look into their windows.
“There must be an element of decency. We cannot allow social media to be a place where there is no morality.”
One local dog walker told MailOnline: “Things on TikTok are ridiculous. Many people play armchair detectives and think about things they know nothing about.
“It doesn’t help the police at all. These videos just attract more people who have nothing to add but just want to be a part of it.
“It’s really disrespectful to Nicola’s family when people who don’t know anything about this comment and stick their nose in.”
The furious comments came after a TikTok sleuth was fined for posting a video of the search site.
Dan Duffy from Darwen, Lancashire, claims he was held by police for almost a day after being arrested on Friday for disturbing the peace.
The influencer, who posted a video of his arrest on YouTube, says he was also fined £90.
