Fire me up… The Rolling Stones are now playing TikTok!
The Rolling Stones, the legendary band that needs no introduction, have officially joined TikTok (@TheRollingStones), giving creators from all over the world access to their full music catalog on the platform. For the first time, the TikTok community will be able to use the band’s iconic tracks in their video creations. Users will be able to create covers and remixes of cult hits such as “Start Me Up”, “It’s Only Rock and Roll (But I Like It)” and “Miss You”. All of these tracks are available on the TikTok Sounds page.
A chance meeting between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards at Dartford station in England in 1961 and a shared love for Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry resulted in one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time. More than sixty years later, we are excited to welcome The Rolling Stones to TikTok, bringing their world famous song catalog to the community.
Legendary frontman Mick Jagger will also be joining TikTok with his personal account. He joins bandmate Keith Richards, who arrived on the platform last year. Fans can follow both accounts as well as the band’s official channel, which will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes content from live performances, studio recordings and more. The band also released their first videos featuring rare archival footage and calls for fans to perform, move and dress like The Stones.
To celebrate their registration, TikTok will launch the official hashtag #TheRollingStones. Creators can get involved by sharing their best covers and remixes, whether it’s an up-tempo version or an acoustic rendition of the band’s favorite song. We’ll also be inviting creators to move like Jagger, slash like Keith, and show off their best rock-inspired looks.
TikTok fans can also enjoy a brand new guest playlist created by the group. The playlist features 44 hits from their catalog, including “Start Me Up”, “It’s Only Rock and Roll (But I Like It)”, “Miss You”, “Angie”, “Beast Of Burden” and other.
The Rolling Stones were in incredible demand as the community demanded the band’s catalogue. Hashtags #TheRollingStones and #RollingStones have over 500 million views prior to the band’s registration, and the creators pay homage to the band’s incredible contribution to music through instrumental covers, ‘finish lyrical’ tasks, Thank you posts by Keith Richard and their best impressions of Mick Jagger singing. With such creativity and enthusiasm for The Rolling Stones, we can’t wait to see how the most creative community in the world uses the band’s track catalog.
