The Chemical Brothers Return With Their First New Track In Two Years – Billboard
Two years after releasing their latest new music, The Chemical Brothers are back.
The British duo released their latest single “No Reason” today (March 17). Their first song since 2021’s “The Darkness That You Fear”, the new release is a Chemical Brothers classic – a textured and inventive (but never fussy) jam built around funk, bass, percussion waves and a finely crafted voice screaming “Oooh! Jubilant and danceable, the song still retains the edgy that the pair are known for. Check out Smith & Lyall’s video for the track below.
The single will lead the British duo to next month’s Coachella, while The Chemical Brothers will also play shows in Santa Barbara, California and Seattle, Washington, along with festival sets across Europe through the rest of the summer.
The couple – Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons – have also been working on a new album, which will be a follow-up to the 2019 album. There is no geography. The album ranked #3 in Dance/Electronic Albums and won the 2020 Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
