Take a look at this hidden UK infinity pool with breathtaking views
Infinity pools are often the back-up of five-star resorts and trendy spas.
But you may not want to check Google Flights for your trip to the Maldives because you can enjoy a luxurious life a little closer to home.
The secret location houses a small shallow pool that overlooks the dramatic landscape of Snowdonia National Park.
Those lucky enough to find the hidden gem have shared breathtaking videos on TikTok – and the water looks very inviting.
But if you want to swim, be aware that this secret place is not easy to find.
The infinity pool is actually a power-generating dam built by farmer Wynn Mostyn Jones on his own land back in 2016 as part of a clean energy initiative.
Wynn, who sadly passed away, never intended to turn the pool into a tourist spot.
And since then, tourists have gone out of their way to hide its location in order to preserve its natural beauty.
One walking group, Northerners on foot, said they needed to do some “detective work” before setting off on their mission and that the pool is not visible from the main road as it is “well camouflaged in the hills”.
We don’t mean to spoil the fun with the location, but it’s been widely reported on social media that the pool is somewhere above the Llanberis Pass, and if you dig a little on Google Earth, you’ll probably find what you’re looking for. looking for.
For those who can’t put on their walking boots and go to Snow Down, you’ll have to content yourself with lusting for TikTok videos instead.
“Wow, looks so peaceful,” wrote in the comments. “Beautiful,” wrote another.
Speaking about his pool back in 2020, Wynn said: “Part of me wishes it was kept a secret.
“Although I did not expect such a response, I can understand why so many people flock here.
“The views are fantastic here – it’s so quiet and peaceful and it’s clear that this is a great place to enjoy.”
But it is important to note that only experienced hikers should look for an infinity pool.
Tragically, mum-of-two Victoria Naomi Luck, 47, of Wolverhampton, died in December 2021 while walking with her partner in hopes of finding a pool.
Wynne Moss also warned tourists, adding: “My biggest concern right now is that groups of young people from the area will be coming here and partying in the middle of the night.
“It’s dangerous more than anything, and it worries me from time to time.”
