Selena Gomez ‘Lose You to Love Me’ Hits 1 Billion Spotify Streams – Billboard
She needed to lose you to gain flows—a billion, to be exact. Selena Gomez passed the one billion stream mark on Spotify thanks to her 2019 blockbuster Lose You to Love Me, which she tagged on Instagram on Wednesday (March 22).

Spotify also posted information about this attraction on Instagram, which the “Calm Down” singer re-shared in her story. “Thank you,” she wrote, adding a heart emoji.
“Lose You to Love Me” isn’t Gomez’s first song to hit the Spotify Billion Stream Club, but it’s her first solo effort to hit that mark. Previous recordings include collaborations on “It Ain’t Me” with Kygo, “Wolves” with Marshmello and “Taki Taki” with DJ Snake, Ozuna and Cardi B.
Released as lead single from Only murders in the building star’s third studio album, Rare“Lose You to Love Me” became Gomez’s first number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was a streaming powerhouse from the start, becoming the singer’s first song to top the Streaming Songs chart shortly after its release.
“When I wrote the song ‘Lose You to Love Me,’ I was in a bit of a mess,” she said. Billboard at the beginning of 2020. “It was very hard for me. And by the time we shot the video at the end of the year, it had a completely different meaning, and it was so liberating. It was actually fun for me – I think because I let it go, it actually meant that I let it go inside of me as well. And I couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to close a chapter in my life.”
