Lizzo may be “100% that bitch” but she still has to serve on a jury. The 34-year-old musician recently revealed on a couple of hilarious TikTok that she was called to do her civic duties in court but was eventually fired from her juror job before the case even started.
In the first of her recent TikTok posts, the “Truth Hurts” singer documented the process of getting ready to serve as a juror, which she admits she certainly wasn’t looking forward to. “I’m actually really worried about this,” Lizzo said as she worked on her skincare routine. “I just heard that people have really terrible cases. I have a very sensitive mind, I don’t like to hear or see it. I will cry.”
Choosing a dress for the day, she described her look as “a law-abiding citizen.” However, she ended up changing her outfit, choosing instead to present some of her own Yitty outfit in the courtroom.
“Just doing my civic duty,” she captioned the video, which quickly filled with hilarious comments.
“I would drop dead if I was on jury and Lizzo was there,” a fan wrote, while another joked, “Your honor, she kills.”
However, the process came to nothing. The Grammy winner was quickly eliminated from the selection process. “I AM RELEASED BY JURY I’M INTERESTED WHY,” she captioned the second video, which featured a photo of Lizzo posing in front of the jury room.
As one commenter pointed out, the star is probably off the hook simply because celebrities are sometimes “fired because they’ll be a ‘distraction’ in court.” For example, for this reason, Madonna was sent home after the jury just two hours later, a spokesman for the court said at the time.
