Well, you’re in luck, disorganized friend, because mom has a hack she claims will cut your tumble dry time “by 30%.”
Caroline McCauley from Perth, Australia shares tons of cleaning and organizing hacks with her 5 million TikTok followers.
To speed up the washing process, she says, you just need to add one simple item to the dryer: a clean towel.
“If you’re tired of waiting for your clothes to dry, try this super quick dry hack,” Karolina wrote on Instagram.
“If you add a clean, dry towel at the beginning of the drying cycle and then turn on the dryer, the towel will help absorb the moisture.”
Karolina said that you should take the towel out of the dryer after 15 minutes and it will cut the drying time by 30%.
Her followers were quick to say they would try this trick, while others shared their own cleaning hacks.
One person wrote: “If your clean clothes are wrinkled because you haven’t hung them up and folded them yet, you can toss them in the dryer with a clean, damp washcloth or hand towel and dry them in the dryer to steam out the wrinkles.”
Caroline had more than just the towel trick up her sleeve.
When it comes to laundry, she also recommends adding essential oils to wool drying balls to keep clothes smelling fresh and clean.
She also recommends leaving the car door open to allow moisture to escape and prevent mold and dirt from forming.
And if you manage to get any stains on your clothes, she says “catch them as fast as you can” by soaking them in stain remover before tossing them into the wash.
