Jimin’s ‘Set Me Free, Pt. 2’ Is This Week’s Favorite New Music – Billboard
Jimin’s new solo song “Set Me Free, Pt. 2 topped this week’s new music poll.
Music lovers voted in a poll published on Friday (March 17) on Billboardpicking the BTS member’s hip-hop-inducing track as his favorite new music release last week.
“Set me free, Pt. 2” scored 89% of the votes, beating the new music of Melanie Martinez (“DEATH”); Taylor Swift (“If It Was a Movie”, “Safety” and “Open Your Eyes” (Taylor’s version), “All the Girls You’ve Loved Before”); Kx5 (Kx5); Hozier (Eat young EP); and others.
Jimin is the latest member of BTS to embark on a solo career, and the South Korean singer has given fans a sneak peek at his upcoming album. FACE, with the release of the set’s lead single “Set Me Free, Pt. 2”. Filled with vibrant hip-hop beats and auto-tuned vocals, the track is accompanied by a matching vibrant music video.
FACE scheduled for March 24th. On the same day, Jimin will also share the music video for the second single “Like Crazy”, which was co-written with fellow BTS member RM.
Earlier this year, Jimin made his first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100, joining Taeyang for the BIGBANG member’s new single “Vibe.” Jimin also released the solo songs “Lie” and “Serendipity” as well as “With You” from the soundtrack of the TV drama. Our blues.
After Jimin, Martinez’s new song “DEATH” appeared in the fan poll, with 4% of the votes. On the track, the singer says goodbye to her Crybaby identity, taking on a new birth – and an electronic, synth sound – for her. Portals a cycle of albums that promises to be one of the most ambitious.
