A third-grade teacher from the US has made waves on the internet by showing how you can check your heart rate with two simple household items.
Libby Richards, with the TikTok username @libbymrichards, posted a video that has since received over 2.6 million views and hundreds of comments on the social network.

“When you tell kids you can see your pulse with just a marshmallow and a toothpick…” the caption to the video reads.
The footage shows that by sticking a toothpick into a marshmallow and placing it on the top of your wrist, you can watch it move to the rhythm of your pulse.
“Try different points near the pulse point on the side of the thumb,” she explained in the comments section.
Fans of the TikTok hack were thrilled by Richards’ revelation.
“Aka when you tell the whole internet,” wrote one person.
“You all my students will love this,” said another.
“Not me, like a nurse about to wear marshmallows and toothpicks in her dressing gown,” said a third.
