Tommy’s sister Amber Smith and longtime girlfriend Courtney Santaella broke the news of Tommy’s passing.
His girlfriend Courtney Santaella made the tragic announcement of the passing of Tommy, father of YouTube star Everly, on September 9, 2022.
She wrote: “My heart is broken into a million pieces as I write this. I feel numb and can’t find the words except that I want this to be a terrible nightmare.”

Tommy Smith’s cause of death revealed
An investigation into the sudden death of a seemingly healthy young 29-year-old man has now established the cause of death.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Coroner confirmed that Smith died of an accidental overdose. According to the coroner, he overdosed due to acute fentanyl intoxication. Fentanyl, also known as the zombie drug, has taken over the US.
However, despite Smith’s death being ruled an accidental overdose, the case remains open.
Rumors about Tommy’s death
Before Tommy Smith was confirmed to have died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, there were rumors about the cause of his death.
The rumors also questioned Tommy’s lifestyle, which appeared to be healthy and adventurous on social media as he regularly posted pictures of himself doing outdoor activities.
However, TikToker @daisyjanewood has stated that she has a source who confirmed that the cause of Tommy’s death was a drug-related seizure.
According to allegations, Tommy attended Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and unknowingly ingested fentanyl, which caused convulsions and cardiac arrest. Other sources also claimed that the fentanyl killed Tommy. No further information from the coroner or his family has confirmed this.
Tommy Smith: life before death
Thomas Walter Smith, better known as Tommy, was born on March 5, 1993. Tommy sadly passed away at the age of 29 on September 9, 2022 in Orange County.
Before his death, he had a long relationship with Orange County barber Courtney Santaella. In early 2018, the couple was confirmed to be dating.
The relationship comes two years after his permanent marriage to Savannah Labrant last ended in 2016. The couple raised 10-year-old daughter Everly Rose together.
Following the Savannah Rose Labrant announcement, Everly’s mother took to Instagram to mourn the sad news of her ex-boyfriend’s passing.
The influencer, 28, shared an adorable photo of Tommy with his daughter, as well: “Our hearts are incredibly heavy as we grieve the loss of Everly’s father, Tommy. He loved Everly immensely.”
