In her latest TikTok video, which has garnered 1.4 million views on the platform, she explained the rude reasons why she would never use the coffee maker or provided shower facilities in hotel rooms.
“As a former hotel manager and avid coffee drinker, I won’t use (coffee machines) in hotel rooms and here’s why,” she said.
Hanks said that during her time at the hotel, she saw “something other than water” inside coffee machines.
But she said that there is one important part of the car that is never cleaned.
“Despite the fact that the housekeeper can rinse it or wash it from the outside, this pipe is never cleaned,” she said.
Hanks said that if the pipe is not cleaned, the milk inside will curdle, which means you can drink old, moldy milk in your coffee.
Another thing Hanks will never use again is the reusable shampoo and conditioner bottles in the hotel bathrooms.
“People can put whatever they want in there. I saw Nair, and god knows what else, she said.
The exception may be shampoo and conditioner, which can be blocked. Hanks said we should check to see if the soap, shampoo and conditioner containers can be closed.
If they can, they can be used, Hanks said.
“Now these (closed and safe) I will use,” she said.
“If you look, you have to unlock them in order to open them and replenish them.”
Horror Hotel
Thousands of people came to the comment shocked by Hanks’ revelations.
“New fears have opened up,” one of them said.
“Oh my God, I am so innocent that I would never have thought that this could happen,” wrote another.
“Why did I have to see this while I was staying at the hotel?” said the third.
Other hotel employees shared similar stories and tips in the comments.
“As a former household manager at Disney, I also NEVER use glass cups in the rooms. Also, look for bed bugs immediately before you move in,” wrote one.
“I never trust that towels are clean. I’m sure they don’t wash unused towels,” said another.
“I worked at a motel and the maids use the same rags to clean bathrooms, floors and mirrors as they use to clean coffee pots. NEVER use their pots! ALWAYS!!!” insisted the third.
“Don’t wrap yourself in blankets!! They are not washed daily or weekly,” said a fourth.
The hotel staff warned visitors about almost all the features of the hotel room, which frightened many.
“Got it — so bring a coffee pot, coffee grounds, shampoo, conditioner, towels, sheets, mattress… am I forgetting something?” joked one person.
