February 2023 TikTok Trends: BORGS, De-Influencing + More!

horminFebruary 16, 2023

Dena and Catalina Discuss February TikTok Trends! They dive into conversation, talking about how Dena got tickets to Beyoncé, Catalina’s Lord Farquaad haircut (not part of the TikTok hair joke, unfortunately), and how Catalina finally made the famous feta pasta on a year later. They then turn to some food and drink trends: French onion pasta is gaining popularity thanks to @carolbeecooks, and BORGS, or gallons of black rage, are all the rage on the platform. We hear from @bellaaalonzo who explains how to make BORG and @erin.monroe who tells us why Gen-Z has the right idea with these drinks. TikTok has been heavily de-influenced lately, and Catalina and Dena agree with @michelleskidelsky when it comes to her take on shower gel, loungewear, makeup, and the iPad. Duplicates are another popular trend where @wilsonolivia69 has its own meaning, as does the Whole Foods TikTok @wholefoodsmarket account. Finally, (TW) the “I try not to kill myself” audio trend @emo.1 has been popular on FYP, used by creators explaining awkward situations like @rachelhasibs, @officialheathergdawg and @asully331.
