Elmo Channels Taylor Swift by Recreating The Eras Tour Poster – Billboard
In his Age! On Friday (March 17), Elmo took to social media to model his adorable version of the Taylor Swift poster for The Eras Tour.
“Elmo is in the red era of Elmo! #TheElmosTour”, sesame street The fan favorite captioned the post with the character posing in 10 colorful squares corresponding to each of Swift’s albums. For example, in the red (Taylor’s version) square, he wears his own hat and scarf a la “It’s all too good”, and in the pale pink square for 2019 Beloved, he demonstrates a homemade paper heart chain. Elmo’s timing is perfect, given that Swift is only hours away from starting a much-anticipated US tour with two back-to-back shows at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona. To mark the occasion, Mayor Jerry P. Weyers ceremonially changed the city’s name temporarily to Swift City.
Ahead of her first live performance in four years, the superstar also surprised fans with a gift of three re-recorded songs – “Safe and Sound” featuring Joy Williams and John Paul White, “Eyes Open” from The Hunger Games 2012 soundtrack as well Speak Now bonus track “If This Was a Movie” – previously unreleased Beloved cut “All the girls you’ve loved before.”
Billboard also marked the launch of The Eras Tour by unveiling our final ranking of the top 100 Swift songs, from 2006’s “Tim McGraw” to 2022’s “Anti-Hero”.
