Drew Barrymore Sings ‘Music and Lyrics’ Duet After Hugh Grant Dis – Billboard
Drew Barrymore reacted to Hugh Grant’s claim that she is a bad singer by singing on social media on Thursday.
And it wasn’t some old song—the talk show host decided to hum a snippet of “Way Back Into Love” from the couple’s 2007 romantic comedy. Music and words. “All I want to do is find a way to get back to love / I can get through this without going back to love,” she sang into a hairbrush from what appeared to be her dressing room in The Drew Barrymore Show before adding, “Oh Hugh… bert. Hubert. This is for you” with a smile.
Grant’s comments appeared earlier this week in an issue of Wireda popular interview series in which he answers the most frequently asked questions on the Internet. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves co-stars Michelle Rodriguez and Chris Pine. When asked if he actually sang his own vocals in Music and words, he replied, “I’m incredibly auto-tuned… But not as much as some. Drew Barrymore was with me in this movie and I don’t think she would mind if I said her singing was just terrible. I mean, I heard dogs bark better than she sings.
As Rodriguez and Pine laughed awkwardly at the dig, the lead actor quickly added, “But having said that, once they set her up, she sounded so much better than me because she has heart and voice and rock and roll.” While I sounded like Julie Andrews, I wanted to be a bit of rock ‘n’ roll too.”
Wired The interview isn’t Grant’s first press gaffe this week. It comes after his viral interview with Ashley Graham on the Oscars red carpet last Sunday, before he reunited with his Four weddings and one funeral co-star Andie MacDowell will present the award for Best Production Design.
