Daisy Jones & The Six Drop Double Single ‘Special Gift For Our Fans’ – Billboard
Daisy Jones and The Six didn’t just end because their Prime Video series ended. Less than a week after the finale of the 10-episode show, the fictional-turned-real band inspired by bestselling Taylor Jenkins Reed released two surprise singles on Thursday (March 30) as a “Special Gift to Our Fans”.
The double single features previously unreleased tracks “It Was Always You”, performed by leading lady Riley Keough as frontwoman Daisy Jones, and a version of “Aurora” performed by the entire band during the concert. The release of “Special Gift for Our Fans” follows the band’s debut album. Aurorawhich became available for streaming the day before Daisy Jones and Six the premiere took place on March 2. Since then, the record has reached over 50 million times and debuted at number 1 on Billboard Soundtrack table. Meanwhile, the entire group, made up of fictional characters Billy Dunn (Sam Claflin), Karen Sirko (Sookie Waterhouse), Graham Dunn (Will Harrison), Eddie Roundtree (Josh Whitehouse) and Warren Rojas (Sebastian Chaon) in addition to Daisy Keough – became the first act from a scripted series to debut at the top BillboardChart of emerging artists.
