Horrifying footage showed the moment a deadly eastern brown snake lunged at the family’s pet cat in a backyard in western Sydney.
In a video posted on TikTok, a cat can be seen sniffing a stationary snake lying in a corner of a garden in Glenmore Park.

Suddenly the snake rushes at the cat.
“Nala, Nala, Nala!” screams of owners in panic are heard.
The camera view drops to the ground as the owners frantically urge their pet to get out of the snake’s path.
Just a few seconds later, a meow can be heard as the cat returns to frame at the man’s feet, looking unharmed.
The snake is then seen slithering along the edge of the garden bed before disappearing under the hedge.
The incredible video quickly went viral after it was posted on Monday and has since racked up over 170,000 views.
Hundreds of shocked TikTok users gathered in the comments of the video to share their disbelief.
“Oh my God, I screamed too, lucky man, they hit fast,” said one person.
“Mom of three cats… I felt that cry in my soul,” said another.
“Oh my god, this is my worst nightmare with my dog,” added a third.
Responding to hundreds of comments, Nala’s owner said she was “very lucky” not to have been bitten.
“She came when we called and the snake just went up as a warning and didn’t attack,” Rachel Glover said.
“I think she didn’t exude aggression, so Snake just warned her. We’re shocked, but okay.”
Rachel went on to explain that a snake catcher had come to their house, but after “an exhaustive search” they could not find the snake.
“The snake catcher said she looks almost 1.8m and is the biggest snake they have caught,” she said.
“Never go outside!” she added.
Rachel said she would consider putting netting or netting under their fence to prevent it from re-entering the yard, and added that her neighbors should keep their pets inside.
