Shakira brought her latest global hit, the Bizarrap-produced post-breakup diss track “Music Sessions, Vol. 53” on Fallon’s Friday Night Show (March 10). The Colombian star performed an incendiary live recording of a personal track in a close entourage of fans.
On Saturday night, Adele interacted with her fans at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, one of whom named Shakira as one of their favorite artists when Adele asked.
“Oh, last night I saw her perform on Jimmy Fallon… Oh, her ex-husband is in trouble!” Adele said with a giggle. (Slight correction: Shakira and her ex-partner Gerard Pique have been together for 11 years, have two children, but have not been married.)
In her interview with Fallon on Friday, Shakira said she knew the song, which throws punches at Piquet and his new love interest and broke 14 Guinness World Records, would be a hit.
“You know, I started feeling it in my body,” Shaq said. “Usually I have this visceral physical reaction to music.”
